DIPLOMA IN DIRECTION

Direction deals with the art of communicating to the public. In effect it deals with the art of Film Making. Apart from teaching basic technical elements of film making, we, through this course offer vast and ‘in – depth ‘ know – how on Screenplay Writing( which includes types of narratives and styles of narration, from conventional plot structure to ‘freeky’ non – linear narrations) and Film Direction (which includes basic film grammar, methods of film making varying from Aesthetic films to Commercial ones, with a lot of practical exercises) taking variety of references from the cinema of the world. Though our institute is a simple and humble one, our coaching is “Sincere and Serious” keeping International Standards in mind. “From Artistic Ecstasy to Cinematic Excellence! “If you want to write, you got to read” Yes. Our objective is to make our students read a lot before attempting to write film scripts, and make them see a lot of world cinema before attempting direct a scene, sequence or a film. DIPLOMA IN CINEMATOGRAPHY

Cinematography can be defined as the art of capturing moments in celluloid medium to say more capturing lively moments and latest technology has extended this ART to digital medium. Despite of the medium used, the finest part of cinematography is blended with faces of different types of art, which helps to explain cinematography as the epitome of expression.

Learning cinematography as a technology gives the technician the essence of using different aspects of this art to make a remarkable persistence in the mind of the audience’s little pinch of love a passion towards this art of cinematography would really bring out the tune of the real masterpiece. DIPLOMA IN EDITING

Editing is an art of “Storytelling”’ and latterly referred as the “invisible art”. Editing Art is must for both print and Visual Medium. It is a part of the process of Film Making. It involves the selection and Combination of Shot into sequence to give perfect timing.

Editing is a backbone of Film. Film Editing is art, techniques and practice of assembling of footage. A Editor must creatively work with the layers of images, story, dialogue, music, pacing as well as the actors performances. Editor’s usually play a dynamic role in the film making. All aspects like Cinematographer, Art Director, Dance Master, fight master, Sound recordist etc..

DIPLOMA IN SOUND

Becoming a Sound Engineer is possible only with all round knowledge of Film Dubbing, Effects , Recording, Music Recording, Song recording and Mixing and then live recording than just understanding the basic theory and practicals.

Students will learn how to work in various media like Film , Television, Radio Station. Students will gain knowledge in the field of Mixer both Analogue and Digital , Softwares like Nuendo and Pro- tools, Live Recording, Dubbing practice etc…

FORMAT OF PRACTICAL CLASSES

PRACTICAL PROJECT

The completion of course in our Institution is evidently marked by the short film which will be making at the end of the course as the final project. To enable to make this students will be given the following practicals to gain sufficient practical knowledge in the art of film making thereafter.

DIRECTORIAL PRACTICE

In this practice, a Direction student is given training in writing a scene and dividing it into shots, learning the arrangements of elements in a frame followed by Editing and Dubbing to achieve a final Quickie film. The Cinematography students practice shooting the same in Digital movie cameras and Editing students practice editing the same through modern edit softwares(AVID/ FCP) and Sound students practice dubbing/ RR posting balancing and mixing of audio tracks through modern sound softwares (NUENDO/PROTOOLS).

To do this practical the students of all the departments are given proper training by the concerned departments throughout the month of December. To do these practicals themselves during the month of January, the students should have obtained clearance certificates failing to do so will make them unable to do the practical which will put him in a fatal minus point to pursue his course effectively.

SCENE PRACTICE

With the experience and knowledge gained by the above mentioned practicals, the student will make a SCENE with multiple emotions based on which his capacity as a script writer and director will be evaluated.

SONG PRACTICE

In this the student will picturise a film song on the lines of mainstream cinema and edit the same utilizing all the modern editing techniques.

NEWS SUMMARY

In this practice, the student will be asked to practice, how to present a news item in a cinematic way.

DIPLOMA FILM PROJECT

Each student will be a member of an unit and each unit will write the script, shoot it,edit and add sound and submit it as their project work for their Examination.
